Duties & Responsibilities of the Sandusky County Facility Management:

Facility Management was created in 1988 in order to care for the buildings and outside green spaces owned by Sandusky County. This department is part of the general fund and operates with a 1.9 million budget of which approximately 50% goes to pay for utility bills and road fuel for Sandusky County. Facility Management employs 9 people and is under the supervision of Director Ron Hiser. This department is comprised of two branches, Maintenance and Housekeeping.

The Maintenance Department of 5 employees is responsible for the upkeep of 21 county owned buildings. Their duties include general maintenance, remodeling projects, new construction, mowing, landscaping, maintenance, snow removal and overseeing the fuel depot, as well as a wide variety of other jobs.

The Housekeeping Department of 2 employees is responsible for overseeing the cleaning of approximately 215,717 square feet of county offices and public areas.
